About Us

The Panther Youth Wrestling Club was started in 2006 as a source for kids to discover the sport of wrestling. It is also the BEST way to gain experience and prepare for competition at junior high and high school level. Our club is a charted member of the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation (IKWF) and USA Wrestling (USAW).

Panther Youth Wrestling is an IKWF (Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation) sanctioned wrestling club. We practice and meet at the high school in LeRoy, Illinois. Our wrestlers come from the LeRoy and Downs (Tri-Valley) school districts and is designed to feed into the LeRoy/Tri-Valley Jr. High Wrestling Program.  We also accept wrestlers from the area whose school may not offer wrestling as a sport.  We strive to introduce children to the sport of wrestling by teaching them the fundamentals.  We hope they will enjoy the sport and continue on into junior high or high school programs.

Boys and girls ages 5 through 14 are eligible to join the club. Children involved in wrestling through a junior high school program are not eligible as per rules of the IESA (Illinois Elementary School Association) as well as the IKWF.

The IKWF tournament season runs from December through February. We encourage all of our wrestlers to participate in tournaments. We feel the wrestlers gain valuable experience by their participation in tournaments. Live competition gives them an opportunity to apply the skills they learn during practice.
