Panther Youth Wrestling Newsletter – Issue #7
Today was the team’s 2nd tournament of the year as 22 members of the team traveled to Clinton. Our club wrestled well with the increased competition, but fell just short in many matches. Our ability to win the close matches is something we will focus on during practices over the break. I was pleased with our increased use of moves we’ve worked on in practice, as well as our defense. Our shots were good at times, but we will work in finishing quicker and tighter. Also, creating movement and scoring from bottom will become a priority.
We had three champions today. Ryan Kane, Ethan Matlock and Caleb Tucker all finished with 1st place trophies. Ryan and Ethan remain undefeated for the year. Good job to all three!!!
Finishing in 2nd place were Porter Conn, Billy Tay and Tucker Shepherd. Finishing 3rd were Adam Young, Tanner Holoch, Josh Sexton, Coby Windle, Jacob Gaul, Carson Schaefer and Miles Upton. 4th place finishers were Austin Gaul, Anthony Carpenter, Cody Daesch, Colton Tay, Maggie Simmons, Jace Carpenter, Dell Ring, Mikey Mash, and Jacob Rogers.
